own eyes as children (10
years age) at the time in 1947 are
sharing their unique and
emotional journey from 1947 to
2015 in the show.
What if you were 10 years old
in August 1947 and you
witnessed the dead body of
your father in the process of
India getting independence and
India’s Partition. As a child, you
don’t understand for what
reason of the madness you lost
your father. And that incident
left incurable wounds on that
child. Now that child is 80 year
old. Very successful living in
New York. But he never forgot
those images of August 1947.
He was not the only one. It is
estimated one and a half million
people were hurt in the process
and 15 million people migrated
from both countries: India and
Pakistan. Now in the age of 80
how the one would feel looking
back at August 1947.
The show “15th August 1947”
is hosted by Tirlok Malik (New
York Emmy nominated
filmmaker). People
who witnessed August
1947 with their own
eyes as children are
sharing their journey
from 1947 to 2015 in
the show.
The show has part
two, which talks to
young generation of
2015 who has not
witnessed 1947 but
heard from their
grandparents or read in
the history. Young
people share their
views what should be
learned from the
history and future
impact.
“What has been the
emotional journey for those kids
who were 10 year old at that
time August 1947? Have their
memories had been faded?
What would you feel if you
were 10 year old and witnessed
that?” Tirlok Malik wants the
audience of 2015 to examine it.
Tirlok Malik is a pioneer
making films on Indian
American’s experiences. He also
recently launched
the
first ever streaming of Indian
American movies online.
He has known many people
Indians and Pakistanis who
have witnessed 1947 but now
they are living in America. Even
while in America, they have
never forgot their childhood
memories.
Is it possible that we as
human beings with the
background of different
religions and race can agree that
we can also disagree sometimes
and there should be no violence
so that world can be more
peaceful place?
The show is being presented
by NRI TV FILM CLUB and JUS
BROADCASTING. JUS
BROADCASTING has four
channels. They are the first
Indian American Punjabi
channel. The show will be aired
in the week of August 15th on
JUS PUNJABI channels in US
and Canada.

the free checked in baggage
allowance for domestic flyers
is increased to 25 kg in
Economy Class on Domestic
Sectors within India.
This will be valid up to
February 7, 2016.
The US Baggage Allowance
of 2 pieces will apply to
passengers traveling on Air
India between the US & India,
and connecting to an Air India
Domestic Sector within India
in both directions.
This is in addition to our
prevailing low fares between
the US & India.
